Julian Assange, the journalist who is currently imprisoned in London, has been awarded the 2020 Stuttgart Peace Prize. Assange is the founder of the whistleblower platform Wikileaks.
The award is linked to the appeal, “to not only protect, but to enforce, the right to unconditional freedom of information and freedom of the press” explained the Stuttgart association “Die Anstifter” (“The Instigators”), which awards the prize which comes with 5000 euros.
USA demand the extradition of Assange
Annette Ohme-Reinicke, chairwoman of the instigators, said in Stuttgart that the “sharp repression” against Assange was also directed against the realization of comprehensive political information for all. Assange has been imprisoned in London for more than a year. The USA is demanding his extradition for betrayal of secrets.
Presentation ceremony in December
As founder of the organisation Wikileaks, Assange had, among other things, published secret military documents. The presentation of the Stuttgart Peace Prize is planned for December 6th in the Stuttgart Theaterhaus.
Civil society citizen project
Die Anstifter describe themselves as coordinating various civil society projects and events in Stuttgart with a focus on tolerance, diversity and anti-fascist remembrance. Through the Stuttgart Peace Prize, the citizens’ project Die Anstifter is honouring people and projects that have made a special commitment to peace, justice and solidarity. The prize has been awarde annually since 2003.

Without Truth everyone is complicit and everyone is a slave to the Machine, controlled by corrupion and crimes and chosing to be ignorant and stay silent and ignore all the deception and corruption and control, sold out to the Machine that lies, covers up and feeds lies, propaganda, and hate and false information, to drive and wage wars against people and peoples, the horrors and brutality of which they chose to ignore and to live the convenience of their convenient onveniences and lives, to live the lie and to avoid facing or demanding the Truth, to end all the excuses and lies used to wage wars and to persue demonic, corrupt, violent systems of self serving self protecting criminal and criminally insane and diseased ad toxic systems. The machines that claim this or that is a threat, when the only threat is the System itself, against people and peoples, the State is the Terrorist and they are clearly all in it together to cover their crimes and to persist in justifying violence and injustice and crimes against the people and peoples and the disgusting crimes of the Systems that exist, and refuse to allow themselves to be called to account or face the consequences of their own crimes. It takes courage to expose the Truth and even cost you your life, because it is a threat to the whole corrupt and violent system. Demand the Truth, or keep facing the worst, as we’ve all been lined up to be targetted next on their hitlist, these are crimes against humanity, against decent honest people who have the courage to face the truth and te facts of our lives, and to demand the truth because nothing counts more than that, for life, for peace, for freedom and to live, without the need to live the lie and comply for such convenience and convenient conveniences, numb, ignorant and silent, complicit and responsible, each one of us. We are Human we hurt.
It is inhumane to keep a dog cooped up in a kennel
for hours on end without human contact or the prospect to alleviate itself.
Hardly anything about Julian Assange process in the news so far. It is so frightening. What has happened to our German journalism? I feel so angry and week and helpless about it. I won’t stop fighting, now. But I see, it will be in vain.
If you are German: Also watch the gorgeous film in ZDF “die Anstalt” – the only film in German TV for a long time on this topic. Very well done and mentioning all the important things in a rather harsh and sharp and sarcastic(?) way: Just perfect.
I wrote Emails to all the TV-programs that I know and to some German Newspapers asking them to report on Julian Assange’s process.
In German Radio (HR-Info) they were discussion so many people as “candidates” for the peace Nobel prize this year. They mentioned Navalny. But they mentioned Assange with no word!! I did not know, he has been proposed. Has he this year, too?
I am fearing the NSA and so on, now. Are you, too?
I would love to write to Assange in Prison. But I do not dare.
This is such a bad sign for democracy.
I even had to fight my fear, in order to sign the Petitions. I finally signed.
We need to be many, so they can’t prosecute all of us.
But it does not seem like a lot of people are being active right now.
